Hiie Ormission, the Legal Director at IPF Digital, was one of the participants of the first edition of Global Leaders Connect, the new development programme for Leaders from across the Group. “Being on the course was an extremely positive experience for me. Starting from the overall course set-up, the content it offered, through the platform and feeling of being together with the other participants at the time of Covid, ending with the practical tips I gained and started implementing in my business area straightaway.”

Commenting on the course in more detail Hiie says: “The reading and video content on the course offered practical and enlightening information. As a person from the legal area I found some of the course elements true eye-openers. The real-life examples included in the learning materials were very engaging and interesting. Although, I have to admit, that completing all programme modules, with each lasting for one week, took up a considerable amount of my time and it required self-discipline to get my work duties organized to have the time to read through all the materials and complete my assignments. With every consecutive module, however, I knew it was time well-spent thanks to the inspiring content that made it all very rewarding. An extra advantage for me was the ability to stay in touch with the other participants, to exchange ideas and feedbacks through the platform, to consult each other to view a business case from a different perspective. It almost felt like we were not distant from one another despite the physical remoteness. At times, all that was like going back to university.”

The entire learning experience was provided by the recognized Harvard Business School through a specially designed e-platform. Hiie adds that “The platform itself was very simple to use and intuitive, you could easily access all learning materials, complete and submit your tasks, monitor your own progress or consult other participants and see their perspective on solving a business-case. Last but not least, the key theme of the course, i.e. Strategy & Execution was a perfect match for the current times and it offered practical and useful tips and all this has led me to implement a few things I had learnt at the course immediately. I held a workshop for my team to share elements of that knowhow and we decided to introduce some of the course tips into our business as usual operations.”
