Billy Dixon
Senior FP&A analyst
I joined IPF in 2017 in the first group of apprentices employed by the company after my first year in sixth form. I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in accounting, and following a mock interview after an open day with our tuition provider, when the opportunity arose, I couldn’t turn it down.
I’ve worked in the financial planning and analysis team but moved to group reporting after 3 years to develop my skillset and understanding of the business further. I’ve had fantastic opportunities with IPF and couldn’t imagine a better place to develop my career. Joining with just GCSEs and hoping to finish a CIMA qualification after already qualifying with AAT within this time frame has been the most ideal route I could have hoped for.
My role involves consolidating and reporting actual results on a routine basis, which has been a perfect way to compliment my experience with financial planning and analysis, which was more focused on producing budgets. This involves plenty of scope for implementing efficiency improvements to our models, which is personally my favourite part of my role. It’s highly motivating to see my work put in front of senior managers and building stock in my name to be a reliable source of information.
