Your purpose (in a nutshell)
To lead the technical delivery for large-scale Home Credit projects or programmes. You will drive the activities of application delivery teams across several technologies, to meet the time, cost and quality objectives of the project or programme in question.
You will oversee a multi-disciplinary delivery team and take overall accountability for internal resource and outsource development partners in a matrix environment. You will instil a continuous improvement culture, ensuring the adoption of best practice software development principles and standards.
You will be accountable for:
The quality and timely delivery of technology change across a number of application delivery teams to support project or programme delivery
Liaison between the project delivery function and senior business and IT stakeholders across the group to agree priorities and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
Providing effective leadership and management of multi-disciplinary teams across Design, Build, Test and Deployment
Effective management of team capacity, ensuring efficient allocation of both in-house and external resources and skills
Participate in the key governance and programme bodies of IPF relevant to the role.
Drive a modern Agile centric best practice ethos into the teams and be an expert and advocate of the latest development and delivery techniques, including the adoption of IPF’s Project Delivery methodology
Recruiting, managing and developing a number of in-house resources across a range of technical roles
Represent the IT Delivery function to senior stakeholders and take overall accountability for progress and reporting of key metrics, in-line with the project or programme plan.
Managing an internal/ external development budget of up to £2-3 million per annum.
Collating project estimates and ensuring that these estimates and budgets are appropriately managed
Requirements of the Role
Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent level of qualification, preferably in an IT-related discipline
Internationally recognised Software development certifications
Knowledge:
Up to date knowledge of IT and industry trends and developments
Good working knowledge of solutions deployed in financial services
Knowledge of best practice in setting departmental budgets
Knowledge of team performance coaching
Knowledge of software development best practice approaches
Digital and SaaS offerings across a broad spectrum
Exposure to continuous software integration and continuous software delivery
Software development cycles and approaches
Skills:
Agile development techniques and Project management (SCRUM, SAFe etc.)
Excellent relationship builder with strong delivery focus
Driving multi-discipline Software development teams
Ability to prioritise competing business demands and negotiate delivery timeframes.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills for dealing with all levels (internal and external)
You will be tenacious and creative, able to overcome project and technical problems to deliver outcomes.
Ability to manage major outsource teams and associated risks
The ability to manage team and individual performance to achieve set objectives
Staying up to date on industry trends and implementing best industry practice to maintain the company’s competitive advantage
Excellent communication skills, including active listening
Ability to ensure that performance coaching is embedded in the department
The ability to spot, select and develop talent
Experience:
Will have held senior IT roles within a development discipline
Proven track record of delivering significant technology initiatives
Experience of connecting day to day activities to company strategy and vision
Leading internal and external development teams of 50+ in size
Experience of software development cycles and approaches
Working in a matrix model of in-house software and packaged solution development
Experience of driving 3rd Party development teams
Other:
Occasional international travel may be required

Line managers are accountable also for failure to take appropriate action when wrongdoing is identified.
Your Loss Prevention responsibilities and accountabilities are to:
Work in a safe manner in accordance with local legislation and company policy and report all accidents, incidents and concerns to your line manager and the loss prevention team
Work in compliance with the company’s anti-fraud and anti-money laundering policies and report any breaches or suspicious activity to your manager and the loss prevention team
Protect the customers’, employees’ and company’s data, information and IT systems from misuse or loss and report any losses to your manager and the loss prevention team
Ensuring CRAs and employees in your team comply with their responsibilities for loss prevention
As appropriate, identify, analyse, monitor and report any risks for your team and take appropriate steps to reduce them in consultation with your line manager.
You are the first line of defence and are responsible for performing your first line management checks including anti-fraud and other controls
Ensure all incidences of wrongdoing are investigated and reported to your line manager and the loss prevention team.
